As part of a university group project to design and build a storage and delivery system that could work as part of an iCart AGV system. Using my concept our team were the only successful group in completed the task of being able to transfer crates from one level to the next as well as singulate the box delivery automatically without the use of electronics when an iCart was in position. this project demonstrates an excellent grasp of mechanical principles and was also an exercise in teamwork,
This page is part of a 52 page report created alongside this project and explains how one of the key elements of the design works. Simple tipping action delivers first box onto iCart when triggered whilst holding subsequent boxes from falling. This simple design I created proved to be both reliable and resulted in a successful project.
Transition arm. This is a computer model of the counter-weighted arm that lowered boxes from the top storage layer to the bottom storage layer. This part was 3D printed and used a similar design to the singulation device at the delivery point on the bottom roller.
