Designed as part of my school final year project. I decided to design a new innovative product that allowed young children to build a good habit of flossing. this product provides a solution to young children not having the dexterity to floss with just string. this reusable device allows children to maintain and learn oral hygiene in a fun way. I was made aware of the issues around young children’s oral hygiene after a discussion with my father who is a dentist as well as talking to parents who were trying to encourage good habits in their children.
This page demonstrates the ergonomic considerations when designing a hand held product for young children. This page was part of several consideration pages, that covered many different topics, which were used to develop a specification for the Flosser.
This page is designed to help communicate the concept clearly to clients as communication between client and designer is crucial for successful product development. due to this device being developed to work with the existing Oral-B floss dispenser it is hopeful that this could become part of their range of products to make flossing more accessible for young children.
